"What Remains To Be Seen"
Parts I, II, and III
2005 - 2007
Commissioned in 2005 through the State of Illinois Art-In-Architecture program and Capital Development Board, "What Remains To Be Seen" was a permanent and site specific installation in the National Center for Supercomputing Applications building on the engineering campus at the University of Illinois, UIUC.
There were three components, on three different floors, which depicted the immediate space of the viewer though 3D modeling and animation software. In each case, the display was integrated into the environment in an unobtrusive manner and presented much like a traditionally framed work of art. Each work contained three imaginative clips that were randomly activated by motion detection as the viewer approached. With no movement, the selection defaulted to a still image.
The works were small in order to elicit a personal response and each wall label denoted the location of the other installations in the building as a way to encourage discovery of the entire space.
